| Well here's the update for you all... finally. My apologies, particularly to sunberries for not having updated sooner... no real good excuse other than putting off until tomorrow what I can do today and all of a sudden finding that it's 8 months later. Story of my life.
- Work has been a lot busier than I thought it would ever be this year... but I think I'm finally making the transition from good worker bee resident to functioning surgeon. I find out everyday that there's so much more to learn about taking care of patients and about operating and how little I know. But I'm realizing more than ever that this is what I'm supposed to be doing. And besides, operating is freakin' fun.
- Being back in Chicago is great. I only wish I had more time to build/rebuild friendships and enjoy the city. Yet another common theme that seems to run throughout my life.
- Not much measurable growth as a Christian recently, but I experience the undying faithfulness of God to me each day without fail.
- Probably the most important event in my life in the last 8 months:
Her name is S. and she's the best. Some of you have been able to meet her and I hope the rest of you get to soon. And there's more to the story which some of you know, and some of you don't, but I've never left the Xanga nation with a cliffhanger before (not a cliffhwanger mind you, though he is also very worth checking out, especially for all you single ladies out there - but i digress)... So more info to come soon... and I promise it'll take me less than 8 months this time. | | |
| hey guys. sorry i haven't updated in a little bit but i'm realizing that 15 hour workdays take a little getting used to after working essentially 9-5 for the last year... for all of you people i owe emails to, sorry i haven't written. i'm workin' on it!
anyways... i have some old school FOB entertainment for you. this article prompted me to go looking for some pictures of cars some of you might remember from your younger days:

can you name this car? gotta love the classic Hyundai Pony and Pony2 (현대
포니
). these tiny cars used to be ubiquitous on the streets of Seoul, especially in the taxi form in nice green or orange colors. i used to especially love the elaborate, lighted, pagoda-shaped "Taxi" signs on the tops of these cars. i think many of you can attest to the cramped space inside. regardless, it's a timeless chick magnet. and how about this one:

gotta love a car with the model name "Bongo." Essentially, this kind of truck has become a class of autos in Korea, regardless of the maker - the 봉고차. they also used to be ubiquitous on any Korean street back in the day when i lived there and i suspect that it's still true.
if you know what the heck i'm talking about, you are either a FOB or old, neither of which any of you will likely admit to...
